All too often, companies everywhere, including here in Macomb County, waste their hard earned profits on team building efforts that result in little, or no, improvement in performance. If the only results the leadership wants to see are to have fun and spend some cash, then that is perfectly fine. However, if the leadership desires highly effective teams, then they will need to follow the recipe for teamwork.

From riding in a hot air balloon to driving a race car. From owning your dream home to getting your finances in order. Everything from trips,to love, to family time...write it down. Don't hold back. If you want it...write it down.

After you have your list, pick the top 5 things you want to do. Make these things a priority and you are well on your way to becomeing a "Life Saver." Yours!

Sitting in hotels and airports provides ample opportunities to observe the world around you. As I sat in the lobby of a very nice resort, I couldn’t help but overhear the General Manager tell his staff to “have a great day and make everyone you contact have a great day too.” Make no mistake, that same discussion happens in nearly every hotel and resort in the world. However, the way this manager said it, and the way the people reacted, told me he was very sincere. He made his staff feel good about themselves and their mission.

This United States Marine Corps slogan reminds me of a technique many sales people use to make their sales calls. “The Life Saver Dude” offers seminars that help Sales and Customer Service representatives become more effective by focusing on improving just one element of their selling style at a time.
