This is FREE information to real estate consumers by Steve of Wonder Construction and New Home Coach. Licensed Developer/Builder/Consultant since 1971.

The ultimate American dream is to build your own brand new home. But how do you avoid those common nightmare building stories? It's easy, really. Builders really DON'T want you to have a nightmare building story. It hurts future sales, causes them aggravation and costs money. But with some preparation on your part, you can have a better building experience for all involved. The key is KNOWLEDGE. Not just a one page advice column on a site that advertises builders. No, you need in depth information about all the aspects of buying and building a brand new home. Builder bashing is not my thing, so I believe in elevating you to a knowledgeable plateau to avoid expensive and stressful situations.

If you are prepared BEFORE you even start shopping for your brand new home, you will be vastly ahead of the game. Especially remember, to keep emotions out of the buying process. That is sometimes the hardest thing to do, but necessary. Emotions will cost you money! Here is a real quick synopsis of vital things to do:

  • Be Prepared, Plan Ahead and Gain KNOWLEDGE!
  •

  • Think Things Through and DON'T Buy on Emotion
  •

  • Don't rely on Cousin Mel or brother Tom and their nightmare building stories to give you all the information you need.
  •

  • Ask the right questions
  •

  • Document EVERYTHING!
  •

  • Be Involved
  •

  • Avoid Pink Toilets!!! You'll have to email me to know what this is. CRUCIAL.
  •

  • Understand Your Builder and his Role
  •

  • Understand Your Role

This is just the tip of the iceberg but will help you tremendously. I'd be glad to help anyone and this is FREE.

Macomb County children and adults are choosing to Step Up to the Plate at the Macomb County Library, hoping to hit one out of the park as part of a new national literacy program. One lucky slugger may hit a home run and win the national prize, a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.

All too often, companies everywhere, including here in Macomb County, waste their hard earned profits on team building efforts that result in little, or no, improvement in performance. If the only results the leadership wants to see are to have fun and spend some cash, then that is perfectly fine. However, if the leadership desires highly effective teams, then they will need to follow the recipe for teamwork.

In Macomb County and all over the Metro Detroit area, those cute little wiggly nosed bunnies are in your flowers again.  They sniff out yummy morsels and chomp away all night long.  But there is a way to keep them only eating grass.  Try deodorant soap shavings or dried blood meal sprinkled in your garden. According to the Farmer's Almanac, this is a sure fire way to keep bunnies from your precious flowers!

Our exploration of workplace relationships begins with the issue that is the most vexing and the fastest growing type of discrimination complaint throughout the nation – retaliation or reprisal. It exemplifies the most extreme failure in building effective workplace relationships. It is the fastest growing form of workplace discrimination. It represents the most emotionally draining experience for employees, as well as supervisors and managers. And it is the form of discrimination that employers are most likely to loose in litigation. We will start by defining what is meant by “retaliation” from a legal point of view and how it occurs. More importantly, we will begin to explore how it can be prevented from the point of view of the employee and of the supervisor.
