Macomb County residents are in for a real treat this week in Shelby Township.

There will be a fireworks display that will begin at dusk on Wednesday, August 6th at River Bend Park.  Fireworks can be viewed from both Woodall Park and River Bends Park.  Don’t forget your blankets and lawn chairs and arrive early to claim your spot.  The delightful sounds of Rick Lieder’s Margaritaville Band will kick off the fun at 7:30 pm.

On August 7th, come join the fun and enjoy the Outdoor Movie Night that is sponsored by the Downtown Development Authority.  The super fun movie “The Bee Movie” will begin at 9:00 pm at the Shelby Township’s Historic Packard Proving Grounds.  Participants can enter the gates beginning at 8:00 pm.  Don’t forget your blankets and lawn chairs for this one too.  The rules are simple:  no pets, no glass containers, not alcohol, and of course, have fun!

On Saturday and Sunday (August 8th and 9th), Macomb County residents are invited to the Shelby Township Art Fair.  The fair will be held at the Shelby Township Municipal Grounds, south of 24 Mile Road.  There will be music and art displayed from artists from many locations.  The kids are sure to enjoy bouncing in the bouncers, completing crafts and seeing creatures from the Burgess Shadbush Nature Center.  Activities run from 10 am until 5 pm, both days.

Everyone is sure to enjoy these fun activities.  The great news is that they are all free events!
