Macomb County, March is Women's History Month
March 26, 2008 by Ralph Roberts commentEastern Michigan University (EMU) will have a forum to examine the lives of women who work outside of the home. The term “glass ceiling” was coined to describe some of the difficulties women face in the workplace. They can see what is it like at the top, but it can be a daunting and painful process to get there. Even with increasing numbers of women in the workplace, it is not easy.
Members of the EMU faculty will talk about this at an event entitled “Breaking Through the Glass Ceiling: How Women Get and Keep Power Positions”. Joine them on Thursday, March 27 at 5pm for a thought-provoking conversation. The panelists will talk about women’s ability to get into positions of power in various professional arenas, as well as discuss what happens to women who reach certain heights in an organization.
