Meet the Waruneks of Macomb County from Macomb County
January 16, 2007 by habitat commentI am Jennifer Warunek. of Macomb County I am 27 years old and a single mom of two kids, Chelsea (8 years old) and Ethan (3 years old). I was married for 5 years. I got divorced in 2004. It has been hard raising two children on my own since the divorce. There is so much to juggle when you are a single parent, work, the kid's school and their activities, and maintaining our home. I have learned to take help from friends and family. They are great by helping me with the kids and they support my daily life.
I was going to school part-time at Baker College in Clinton Township (Macomb County). I was working part-time as a cashier. Now that I have been on my own, I had to take a break from school and work full-time. I will be resuming school after I get back on my feet but until then I need to work as much as I can to provide for my family.
After struggling with finding affordable and adequate housing for my family, a friend referred me to Habitat for Humanity (Macomb County) to apply for an opportunity to better the situation. By getting this chance from Habitat for Humanity (Macomb County) to receive a house, it makes me feel like I'm getting one more step closer to getting my life together and back on track. It is a great feeling to be able to make it in the world and to know that you are able to provide for your family.
