Macomb County health centers still offering flu shots
January 12, 2007 by healthdept comments (1)MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – It’s better late than never to get a flu shot. Macomb County has an ample supply of vaccine and the Health Department wants residents to know that getting vaccinated will still protect them through the end of the flu season.
Shots are available on a walk-in basis at each of the Health Department’s three main clinic locations. Locations and hours are as follows:
Mount Clemens: 43525 Elizabeth Road (Elizabeth at Groesbeck) Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. St. Clair Shores: 25401 Harper Ave. (Harper near 10 Mile) Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Warren: 27690 Van Dyke Ave. (Van Dyke near Martin) Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. People with access to the Internet can download vaccine information forms and consent forms from this Web site: http://www.macombcountymi.gov/publichealth/ClinicServices/2005FluInformation.htm Completing the consent form in advance can mean less time spent at the Health Center.A $15 charge for each vaccination is payable with cash or check. The fee may also be billed to Medicare Part B or Medicaid for residents who are enrolled in those programs. Medicare or Medicaid billing requires recipients to show their ID card for the program and a valid driver’s license or other form of photo identification. (Persons with HAP Medicare will need to pay $15 or go to their medical provider.)
