Care House opened its doors in October of 1996 to provide a coordinated community response to child abuse in Macomb County, Michigan.
  • Care House is a full member of the National Children's Alliance - a not-for-profit organization that provides training, technical assistance, and networking opportunities to communities seeking to plan, establish, and improve Children's Advocacy Centers.

  • Care House has interviewed over 1,200 children, reducing their trauma of the abuse, and serviced over 1,500 families.

  • Care House developed a medical component with the support of St. Joseph's Mercy of Macomb and Mt. Clemens General Hospital.  With the financial support of the Metro Health Foundation, the medical unit opened in April of 1997.  Over 100 child medical exams have taken place at Care House.

  • Care House has built strong relationships with professional agencies through Macomb County, Michigan.  These agencies include, the Macomb County Family Independence Agency, the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office, the Macomb County Family Court, the Macomb County Sheriff's Department, and every local police jurisdiction in Macomb County.

  • Care House offers support groups for non-offending parents and their children.   Through these groups, parents can receive vital information and share experiences with other parents.

  • Care House became the newly designated Children's Trust Fund Council for Macomb County in 1999 when it merged with the Macomb County Child Abuse and Neglect Information Council.  Care House now provides child abuse prevention and education services to the community.

  • Care House offers a variety of educational seminars and speaking engagements.
